Garmin GPS – Ways to speed up search for Satellite at a new city?
I have a Garmin Nuvi 265. When I bring it with me on trips to other cities, I notice it takes a LONG time to search for satellite the first time I use it at the new location. Is there any tricks to make it faster?
It’s quite annoying when you hooking it up in the rental car and have to wait for a long time before it can tell you where to go.

The GPS one of the things you hook up into your car that you put where you need to go into the thing and it gives you directions.My question is do you have to pay a monthly bill for like hooking it up to a satellite or whatever?Because I read you just have to buy it and that is it.Are there any hidden charges?

I got a garmin nuvi for Christmas and it just keeps saying aquiring satellites, should I return it?
I live in a major city so there should not be a problem finding a satellite. I can program it but all it does is keep flashing the little car symbol on the one area I was in a few days ago….any suggestions? Do I call Garmin or return it to where it was purchased?
